This afternoon, a new repeater went on the air for our amateur radio operators. This will allow the use of newer digital and older analog technologies to work together on one system.
The amateur radio operators and their equipment help supplement public safety and first responders in the event of emergencies where our primary communications systems may be unusable.

To all stations with HF capability in the Indiana Section. I have
received word the Hurricane Watch Net will formally activate tomorrow Saturday August 31st at 2100z or 5pm local time and will remain in operation for the duration of Hurricane Dorian. Available stations should monitor 14.325 daytime and 7.268 nighttime. It is requested stations in our area not transmit unless requested and to be prepared to relay traffic in and out of the effected areas. Please keep our friends in the effected areas in your thoughts and hope for the best. Thanks and 73!
